Rex Academy’s “Computer Science for All” Grant
Are you a Title 1 school looking to bring Computer Science into your classrooms? Please read below to see if you qualify!
Apply for your "Computer Science for All" Grant today!
Rex Academy was founded by an engineer, Sandhya Padala, when she struggled to find enough qualified programmers to hire coupled with a lack of Computer Science resources for her own children.
We know firsthand that Computer Science skills are in demand, by employers and students, however the playing field is not level for all. Our Computer Science Grants are awarded monthly to change this equity and access gap one school at a time.
Education to the “Rex”cue!
Computer Science should be accessible for everyone, including schools that are unable to have a Computer Science teacher in their building. That’s why we’ve designed our courses to be taught by teachers with no Computer Science background—effectively eliminating a gap for so many schools, affording your students the ability to take Computer Science courses without a dedicated CS teacher.
Rex offers courses for nearly every grade level and covers engaging topics like Cyber Security, Game Development, Becoming a Youtuber, and building Apps.
Here’s how it works.
Each month, a Rex Academy committee of diverse educators and computer scientists will meet to vote on recipients from among qualified applicants. Grant recipients will each be awarded 12 months of access to the Rex Academy platform, along with any course in the Rex Academy catalogue.
Each grant provides access for one teacher and 30 students for the entire school year.
If your school is selected,
The Rex team will work with you to select the right course for your needs.
We provide all the training needed to be up and running for your course
